The share of renewables in total electricity generation globally is now 30% and the International Energy Agency predicts that it will increase to 89% by 2050. In 2023, nations at COP28 have agreed to triple the installed capacity of renewables by 2030 to drive a major reduction in greenhouse gas reductions. Countries around the world are speeding up deployment of renewable energy sources from the perspectives of reducing energy security risks and increasing economic competitiveness. Renewable Energy Institute provides studies that show initiatives taken by countries across Europe, the United States, as well as China, South Korea, and Southeast Asia.
