Denmark, a global leader in energy transition since the 1970s, has generated over 80% of its electricity from renewable sources in 2023. In addition to electricity, Denmark has implemented diverse renewable energy policies, including central heating, biogas and power-to-x. This webinar explored Denmark's cutting-edge energy and climate policies and their implications for the world.

- Izumi Tanaka
Senior Researcher, Renewable Energy Institute - Izumi Tanaka joined Renewable Energy Institute in 2025. Before joining the institute, she was a Senior Commercial Officer at the Royal Danish Embassy Tokyo and supported market entry and business development of Danish companies in the fields of energy and the environment. She has also worked at the Embassy of Sweden in Tokyo as an analyst in sustainable development policy, as well as a researcher at Toshiba Corporation.
She holds a Bachelor's degree from the Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management, College of Natural Resources, University of California and a Master's degree from the Graduate School of Environment Studies, Tohoku University.
At Renewable Energy Institute, she focuses on promoting the development of renewables such as offshore wind.
