Heavy Industry Decarbonization

8 February 2024

in Japanese

The heavy and chemical industries account for a large portion of Japan's GHG emissions, and factories in this sector are among the top emitters and  has often been labeled as a hard-to-abate sector.  Driving effective measures to meet the 1.5 degree target is now crucially important than ever. It is no exaggeration to say that decarbonization of this sector will determine the success or failure of Japan's climate change measures.

Renewable Energy Institute carries out dialogues with various stakeholders and pursues studies in order to contribute to discussions on the decarbonization of the heavy and chemical industries, including the steel industry.
