Companies around the world are increasingly transitioning their electricity use to renewables to accelerate progress toward decarbonization in business. In Japan, many companies have joined the global initiative RE100, which aims to procure 100% renewable power and corporate PPAs have continued to grow in recent years.
Renewable Energy Institute publishes guidebooks on renewable electricity procurement and Corporate PPA practices, providing an overview of the options available and the underlying policies and regulations in Japan. Case studies that present the initiatives of leading Japanese companies are also compiled as reports, offering guidance and support to companies and local governments seeking to source electricity from renewable energy sources.
