Renewable Energy Institute, together with F20(Foundations Platform F20)hosted the 3rd F20 High-Level Forum in Tokyo on 13 June 2019 to discuss and determined the most pressing questions for the upcoming G20 summit in Osaka at the end of June, including pathways for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the Paris Agreement to enable global climate action, renewable energy uptake and the building of resilient societies.
Under the title of “Heading towards a New Climate and Sustainable Economy – Shifting the Trillions for a Just Transition,” the F20 platform sought to examine possible pathways towards an economy that is still geared for growth, yet embraces the opportunities of a long-term transition in line with the Sustainable Development Goals and towards a sustainable and low carbon economy that is capable of dealing with the risks posed by severe future climate change.

About F20
The F20 platform is an unprecedented group of foundations and philanthropic organisations from different parts of the world, calling for joint, transnational action towards sustainable development, along positive transformation examples to provide pathways towards solutions of today’s most pressing challenges – climate change and a just transition towards sustainable development, based on renewable energy. F20 builds bridges between civil society, the business and financial sectors, think tanks and politics – within the G20 countries, between them and beyond.
