Based on the “Concept for the Disclosure of Grid Information” defined by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), TSOs and OCCTO (Organization for Cross-regional Coordination of Transmission Operators, Japan) provide power supply-demand records for each TSO area, as well as regional interconnection flow data connecting the TSOs.
Renewable Energy Institute has visualized power supply-demand and inter-regional interconnection flow data dating back to 2016 in the form of charts and maps, and has been providing this information since 2020.
The “Concept for the Disclosure of Grid Information” was subsequently revised, and starting in 2024 the power supply-demand data has been subdivided into 30-minute intervals, with additional disclosure of thermal power generation by fuel type. In line with these changes, the Institute has revised its charts and maps.
This webinar provided an overview of the new version of our power supply-demand and interconnection flow charts and maps, revised in 2024.
