Renewable Energy Institute organized an event during the three-day APAC Wind Energy Summit 2025*, held in Melbourne, Australia from 16 to 18 September.
On day one, Renewable Energy Institute hosted a session on Japan's offshore wind potential, explaining how new legal frameworks introduced in June 2025 enable the installation of offshore wind farms in the EEZ, and how floating offshore wind is expected to become central to Japan’s future offshore wind development. The session explored key opportunities and challenges in the Japanese market, with a particular focus on floating projects.
* The APAC Wind Energy Summit is GWEC's flagship 3-day conference and exhibition bringing industry leaders, policymakers and institutions together to develop innovative and collaborative solutions that address the challenges faced in supply chain and market design in wind energy development. The event provides a platform to drive the discussion for what is needed to accelerate the growth of wind energy across the region.
