Hokkaido, designated as a "GX (Green Transformation) Financial and Asset Management Special Zone," is one of Japan's leading regions in renewable energy potential. The region, alongside Sapporo City, aims to become a global financial hub and a major supplier of renewable energy in Asia and beyond.
To fully realize this potential, robust business models and infrastructure are essential. Denmark, a country with a similar population size, has been a pioneer in renewable energy, especially offshore wind power since the 2000s. Its abundant renewable resources have led to the attraction of data centers and the export of electricity.
This seminar explored Hokkaido’s green transformation strategy through dialogue with Energinet, Denmark’s state-owned transmission system operator that has been instrumental in developing infrastructure to support the integration of renewable energy.
Program Japanese-English simultaneous interpretation available.
