Workshop The Need for Accelerated Regulatory Reform to Expand Offshore Wind

30 November 2022

in Japanese

Japan's offshore wind industry is still in the early stages of development and various reforms are needed to move forward to the next drastic phase of accelerated expansion. In particular, there is an urgent need to conform with the technical standards, conformity assessment, and certification systems for offshore wind power generation with internationally recognized norms.

In this workshop, we explored how standardization and certification processes can be streamlined and simplified, introduced best practices from Europe, where offshore wind power is at the core of the green transformation, and discussed how these could be implemented in the Japanese regulatory, accreditation, and conformity assessment processes.
