Norio Murakami Joins Renewable Energy Institute as Advisor

Renewable Energy Institute is pleased to announce that Norio Murakami, President of Norio Murakami Office and executive research fellow/professor at GLOCOM of International University, will join the Institute as Advisor as of July 1, 2017.

Since joining Google both as vice president of Google Inc. and president & representative director of Google Japan Inc. in 2003, Norio Murakami served as head of all Google operations in Japan and assumed office as honorary chairman in 2009. After retiring in 2011, he established his own office and he was appointed Board of Director at Eneres in 2012 where he served as representative director of the company from December 2014 through to March 2017.

Murakami has been an active opinion leader and advocate for power system reforms utilizing IoT, particularly after the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, and has called the need for the implementation of demand response (DR) systems and negawatt power trading schemes.

With the participation of Mr. Murakami as advisor, the Institute will enhance its efforts to realize power system reforms and further accelerate deployment of renewables.
