Jong-dall Kim is a professor, School of Economics and Trade and director, Research Institute for Energy, Environment and Economy, Kyungpook National University (KNU) in Republic of Korea (ROK). His major areas are energy and environmental economic and policy analysis. He is working in the area of renewable energy and global climate change issues by leading International Solar Cities Initiative (ISCI), as President, and Center for Solar City Daegu as director. He is also an adjunct professor, University of Delaware, USA and a chair professor University of Jixi, China. Before moving university he was a senior Researcher, Korea Energy Economics Institute (KEEI), Center for Energy and Environmental Policy (CEEP), University of Delaware, Environmental Planning Institute, Seoul National University (SNU). He also served as a member of Presidential Committee for Sustainable Development (PCSD), ROK. He has several papers and books on issues of renewable energy, global climate change and sustainable development. He recently translated into Korean the book titled “Myth of Machine, vol. II: The Pentagon of Power,” written by Lewis Mumford. He got Ph.D. from University of Delaware with the thesis of “The Political Economy of Energy, Corporate and Urban Integration in South Korea.”
